Compostable Trash Bags: In our efforts to minimize single-use plastics, we've made the switch to compostable trash bags in all of our guest rooms. These eco-friendly alternatives break down naturally, reducing the environmental harm caused by traditional plastic bags. By choosing compostable options, we're contributing to a healthier planet while maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our surroundings.

Composting Food and Yard Waste: Sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us—it's a way of life. That's why we've implemented a composting program to manage food waste generated in our kitchen and the grass clippings and leaves from the yard. From fruit and vegetable peels to coffee grounds and eggshells, every scrap is carefully composted to create nutrient-rich soil for our gardens and flower beds. Our guests can see the large composting piles in the pasture which are turned weekly to encourage degradation of the raw materials into rich, fertile compost. By closing the loop on organic waste, we're turning food scraps into a valuable resource while minimizing our impact on landfills.

Earth Kind Landscaping: Combining both organic and traditional gardening with landscaping principles creates a “Earth Kind” landscape that is environmentally responsible and exceptionally beautiful. Selecting indigenous trees, shrubs and flowers that can tolerate and thrive in the Texas heat while requiring less water is a “win-win” situation for Mother Earth and for our guests. This also includes a drip irrigation system that puts the right amount of water at the roots of our plants, conserving the precious commodity of water. A heavy layer of mulch to retain the moisture and prevent weeds is key.

LED Lighting: All interior and exterior lighting fixtures have been fitted with LED bulbs, even the antique chandeliers to reduce electrical consumption but also provide adequate lighting at all levels.

HVAC: In late 2023 a new energy efficient heat pump HVAC was installed in the first and second floor rooms on the north side of the mansion.

The DEGART Art Event, organized by DEGA International Art Association and hosted by DEGALLERY, brought together artists from around the globe to immerse themselves in the vibrant Texas landscape during the enchanting Bluebonnet Bloom season. It was not just a gathering of artistic minds but an opportunity to capture the essence of Texas through brushes and palettes, to translate its unique landscapes and characters onto canvas.

Take a step back in time with a stay at the Milton Parker Home in Bryan, Texa s . The Milton Parker Home offers a luxury stay in a vintage setting filled with comfortable family antiques and modern conveniences.

The Milton Parker Home

In 1885 Milton and Mollie Parker built their home in the Brazos Bottom. Mollie Parker drew up the plans for her new home. The cost of the home was $6,000. The Parkers raised their ten children in the house. The Parker family owned the house until 1991.

Spanning 5,000 square feet, boasting seven fireplaces, a large formal dining room, and a study/office area. There are also two parlors: the front parlor to receive guests and a second parlor for the ladies to gather after meals.

The design of the house is simple and plain compared to many of the ornate homes of the Victorian era. The exterior is covered in wooden clapboard siding. A two-tiered veranda with ample room for chairs is on the front.

Mollie Parker was ahead of her time in designing the house. She included an enclosed space in each bedroom. The enclosed space was used as a closet – a most unusual feature for homes of this era.

When the Great Depression hit, the second generation of Parkers, Milt and Maggie, owned the home. After the market crash of 1929, housing values dropped by 35%. Many people owed more money on their mortgage than their home was worth. So Milt and Maggie Parker opened the home as a boarding house. The home was also rented out for special occasions. During this time, “Miss Maggie” renamed the house “The Oaks.”

The third generation of Parkers, Katie and Robert Bernath, lived in the house from 1958 to 1991. In 1987 the home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1991 the home was given to Texas A&M and used as student housing.

The Milton Parker Home Renovation

After purchasing the home from Dr. Van Walker, the Barbiers created a plan to renovate the property. On June 1, 2016, the renovations began.

Renovation Stage 1

The first stage of the renovation included new plumbing, electrical, flooring, and fixtures in the grand entry, both parlors, the formal dining room, and all the bedrooms, including the addition of two bathrooms.

The addition of two bathrooms gave each bedroom a private ensuite bath. The gorgeous original flooring in the home is longleaf yellow pine, which was sanded and refinished.

Denise and Bob Barbier wanted a comfortable, nostalgic vibe for the home. They worked with Lindsey Herod Interiors in Houston to bring their dream to reality. The Milton Parker Home was ready to welcome its first guests in just three short months, reopening on September 2, 2016.

Of course, as with any historic home, the work is never complete, and this is definitely the case with the Milton Parker Home.

Renovation Stages 2 and 3

These renovation stages included rebuilding the two tiered verandas on the historic home’s exterior.

Denise & Bob also wanted to create an outside dining space. This space offers guests an opportunity to dine under the trees al fresco. Along with the dining space, hardscaping the walkways around the main house was also planned.

Mixing The Old With The New

When Jim and I entered the Milton Parker home, we immediately noticed the mixture of antiques with contemporary furnishings. We love how the Barbiers have kept the history of the Parker family evident through the use of the family’s antiques throughout the home. Mixing styles creates a comfortable home atmosphere. Guests feel more like treasured friends.

Let’s talk about the bedrooms. They are, in a word, elevated luxury. I have a very discerning taste when it comes to bedding. The mattresses are dreamy. You will drift to sleep in comfort and wake up refreshed and ready to face the day after a restful night’s sleep.

The linens are fabulous! They are spa-quality (as a matter of fact, they are used in my local spa). I was never too hot under the sheets, which is a bonus win. I commented to Denise how much I loved the linens, and she ordered a set for me. The bathroom is spacious, the water pressure in the shower is perfect, and the deluxe amenities are thoughtful and just right.

Special Touches At The Milton Parker Home

Jim and I often stay at Bed and Breakfasts, Inns, and historic hotels. We love the uniqueness of these types of properties. The history of the property, the people who run them, and the ability to see beyond the public spaces are what we love about them.

The Milton Parker Home is exceptional because of its history spanning 137 years. But the love and care that Denise and Bob have for this home and its guests are also noteworthy. Small touches, like the linens, have an enormous impact on guests.

When we arrived, Denise greeted us at the door with a dose of Texas hospitality. She showed us around the house and then to our room, where we had time to just settle in.

Heading downstairs, we made our way to the heart of any home – the kitchen. We were greeted by Booker and Echo, the Barbiers’ two Labradoodles, as we entered the kitchen. We felt so at home – we were missing our fur baby Zach.

Denise prepared a small meat and cheese tray for us. Taking the tray outside, she was going to leave us to ourselves. But Jim and I wanted to get to know our hosts. So out came the wine, Bob joined us, and the conversation just flowed like honey out of a jar.

The setting is gorgeous, with large towering trees shading the backyard, birds chirping, and a gentle breeze wafting through the air. A brick pathway leads to the fire pit and dining area. The deck is made for entertaining or dining al fresco. We noshed on the charcuterie platter, sipping on a glass of delicious Texas wine from Messina Hof Winery. The conversation flowed as we chatted with Denise and Bob. It was an ideal introduction to Bryan, Texas!

Things To Do In & Around Bryan, Texas

Plan a visit to Messina Hof Winery to tour the property and taste their unique wines. The grounds are fantastic, with all the flowers blooming.

Go shopping in downtown Bryan and indulge in some retail therapy! Our favorite stops are the Old Bryan Marketplace for home decor and upscale bath and spa products.

Catalena Hatters seriously have the largest western hat selection I have ever seen!

For the unique and unusual, stop into Brazos Glassworks. This working glass studio has some fabulous pieces!

After a day of exploring, pop into Vino Boheme for some wine and charcuterie. The wine selection is extensive, and the food is fantastic!

For a hearty meal, head over to Caffé Capri. Be sure to search for the murals on the side of the building – they make great selfies! I love the fact that they offer gluten-free options. Don’t miss the “A Bowtie Affair,” “Cajun Tortellini,” and the “Keywest Pasta.” Fantastic dinner choice!

No matter how you spend your time in Bryan, you’ll look forward to returning to the Milton Parker Home. There is nothing like falling asleep in a comfortable bed after a full day of exploring and pulling the soft as silk sheets up to your chin as you drift away into dreamland.

History of the Milton Parker Home

Denise and Bob Barbier are proud Aggies and owners of the Milton Parker home. They live with labradoodles Booker, Noe, and rescue pup Echo, who take their role as the welcoming committee at this Bryan, Texas Bed & Breakfast very seriously.

The Milton Parker estate has a rich history, and Denise and Bob love to share the home’s legacy with guests.

The Parker family was looking to build a home that was more urban compared to the rural Texas town of Millican, where they moved from. Built in 1885 by Milton and Mollie Parker, they raised 10 children in this home until 1991. It was designed by a female architect from the Parker family and constructed by Dallas carpenters of German descent on a $6,000 budget.The Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast has lived many lives and has seen many changes, although today’s owners have dedicated themselves to preserving the Milton Parker home. Over the years, many people have come and gone, taking a piece of this historic estate with them in their memories.

Next, the home came into the possession of Milton and Maggie Parker during the Great Depression, opening a boarding house for A&M students who enlisted, as well as WWII veterans. Eventually, it was also used as a venue for private events.

Katie Parker and Robert Bernath lived happily in the Milton Parker home from 1958 to 1991. Since the home had already housed Aggies, they gifted the house to Texas A&M University in 1991, where it would become a fraternity house for the next eight years.

The home changed families in 1999 when Dr. Van Walker and John Zieg restored the Milton Parker home to its Victorian roots. This is how it would remain from then on. They saw the property’s potential and turned the home into what is known today as the Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast!

Finally, in 2016, Bob and Denise Barbier became the owners of the Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast and made beautiful renovations to the home, the venue, and the cottage while maintaining its Victorian roots.

It was also interesting to see that even the outside of the house still carries remnants of the property’s history, like the iron fence and outdoor light fixtures. The welcoming committee, with baked goods, furry friends, and complimentary wine and beer, was just the cherry on top!

When you book a room at the inn, you support the continuation of this legacy so, in a way, each guest of the Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast becomes part of the home’s history.

The Bedrooms at the Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast

The Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast has five distinct bedrooms to choose from, each named after members of the Parker family.

The John Parker Bedroom

Located on the first floor, this cozy bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows and a queen-size, Victorian style, iron bed frame. The room is decorated with antiques, a tiger oak fireplace, a beautiful antique desk, and a leather chair. The bathroom even has vintage pieces, like an antique Eastlake Victorian mirror and original sconces. It also has tiled marble floors and a walk-in shower.

The Kate Parker Oliver Bedroom

This bedroom features a beautiful, king-size, four-poster bed, a coal burning fireplace, and a green vintage sofa for long nighttime talks, along with large windows and a grand view of the property. The bathroom has a large, 2-person claw foot bathtub if you’re looking to book a room with a potential for romance.

The Beatrice Parker Gordon Bedroom

This is room is a guest favorite! Located on the second floor, stained glass windows open into a four-poster, king-size bed straight out of a Victorian romance novel. The space has a vintage desk and sitting area, a jetted bathtub, and a handheld shower hose, along with a half-bath behind a door.

The Mary Parker Carr Bedroom

This room adjoins the Winifred Parker Bain Bedroom (described below). The room features a king-size bed, large windows, vintage furniture, a rocking chair, a newly renovated bathroom, and a walk-in shower with a scenic balcony overlooking the estate.

The Winifred Parker Bain Bedroom

This former master bedroom has a Victorian style, iron bed frame, a queen-size bed, a luxurious sofa, and tall windows framing a beautiful view of the patio. It adjoins the Mary Parker bedroom (mentioned above) for families traveling together.

The room has a soothing blue, private bathroom with a tub and another handheld shower hose. It also has an antique marble vanity with a vessel sink that blends vintage and modern design seamlessly!

The Cottage on West 27th Street

Renovated in 2016, the cottage was initially the Milton Parker home’s working kitchen. It features an open concept with plenty of sitting nooks, comfy couches, tall windows, and farmhouse style decor. It was designed to accommodate 7 to 9 people, with 4 bedrooms and plenty of beds. In addition, the cottage features 2 full bathrooms and a small kitchen with all the essential appliances a big family or group of friends might need on a weekend getaway: a 5-burner gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and an ice maker. Finally, the cottage has a stunning front porch that is just right for sitting, talking, and sipping on iced tea. There’s also a back deck that looks out over the property.

Amenities at the Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast

All rooms include luxury linens, books, HVAC control, vintage lamps and chairs, Wi-Fi, and gorgeous fireplaces. The house has a no-smoking policy, and no pets are allowed except for inside the cottage.

All rooms have private bathrooms; some have tubs, walk-in showers, or tubs with shower handles, along with blow dryers, towels, and L’Occitane shampoo & conditioner. There is plenty of parking on the property as well!

Breakfast at the Milton Parker Bed & Breakfast

Everyone is welcome to indulge in a complimentary breakfast buffet during their stay. You and your travel companions will choose from an extensive breakfast menu. There are several options, including fresh eggs, bacon, avocado, sausage, patties, French toast, fresh fruit, jams, peanut butter, yogurt, and more! For drinks, you can choose from milk, plant-based options, coffee from local coffee shops, orange juice, bottled water, a large selection of teas, and complimentary beer and wine. Accommodations can also be made for visitors with specific dietary needs. The meals are home-cooked with a zero-waste approach to its preparation, including a compost pile on-site.

Guest Blog: The Milton Parker Home a True Texas Bed and Breakfast in Bryan Texas

The Milton Parker Home Bed and Breakfast is a historic home in Bryan Texas built in 1885. Milton Parker, a wealthy Brazos Valley landowner active in commerce, banking and real estate along with his wife Molly, built the house as their “town” house. Molly Parker deigned the home, hiring German carpenters from Dallas to build the 5,000 square foot home for their family of eight children. Some people only stay in an all inclusive resort when traveling. Others prefer the large hotel chains, while still others prefer home rentals, camping, luxury or budget accommodations. I have stayed in all of them. From a homestay in Nepal to condo rentals in Manila, boutique hotels in Florida and luxury resorts in Mexico. I personally prefer historic hotels, or smaller boutique hotels, B&B’s or condo rentals to the major hotel chains. I just find the big chain hotels kind of sterile and boring.

This home was unique for its time with each bedroom having a closet. In those times most bedrooms utilized wardrobe cabinets instead of “wasting space” for a closet since they were taxed on each of the rooms in the house and the closet counted as a room. Molly had the home designed with two parlors, a large dining room and five large bedrooms. The home is also noted for having the first indoor bathroom in Bryan Texas. In 1987 the home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The home was built next to the railroad tracks so Molly and her friends could hail the train and go to Houston for shopping instead of having to travel to the train depot in Bryan, only a short distance away, to board the train. Quite a convenience for the time having door to door train service.

The home stayed in the Parker family until 1992 during which the home served as a boarding house during the Great Depression , a social club where affluent young men and women met to socialize, supervised of course, and as a family home. In 1992 the home was donated to Texas A&M University where it became a fraternity house until being bought in 1999 by Van Walker. Walker renovated the home, restoring it to its historic prominence, and it became an event center and Bed and Breakfast. During the time Walker purchase several Parker original antiques to furnish the home

Situated on 4 acres just five blocks from historic downtown Bryan the current innkeepers of the Milton Parker Home, Denise and Bob Barbier, provide a welcoming and relaxing place to retreat from everything and enjoy a comfortable country stay while still near everything. Both Denise and Bob are Texas Aggies and after having spent 20 years living in Louisville Kentucky made their way back to the Texas A&M vicinity.

There is also a cottage adjacent to the main house available for guests. The one story cottage built at the same time as the main house was actually used as the kitchen. In those days, kitchens were separated from the main house for a couple of reasons. First if there was a fire you didn’t want it to consume the main house, second it kept the heat of cooking and the smells from the main house. If you have ever been in Texas during the summer then you know that you don’t need the added heat from cooking, especially since there was no air conditioning.

The cottage has been completely transformed into a 1400 square foot guest quarters with 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms with walk in showers, and an open living, dining room, kitchen area. The kitchen has all the amenities such as range, dishwasher, microwave and full size refrigerator. You even have a private covered porch to sit and enjoy your coffee or evening bourbon while watching the trains pass.

As I said earlier, I prefer smaller hotels, B&B’s, historic hotels and such when traveling. One reason is I think you get a much more personal experience and the service is usually a lot better. Staying at the Milton Parker Bed and Breakfast is no exception. It is a true Texas Bed and Breakfast and Denise and Bob are fantastic hosts that go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure your stay is perfect. Running a Bed and Breakfast and acting as hosts is a tough job but thankfully they have some help.

Pappy and Booker are eager to please and when I pulled up in front of the house for the first time, both came running, full speed, from behind the house to greet me. I should say that Pappy and Booker are Labradoodles and serve as unofficial greeters. Their full names are Pappy van Winkle and Booker Noe, an homage to Denise and Bob’s favorite bourbons. They are both very friendly and spend most of their time either running around and playing in the huge yard or just hanging out.

From the moment I arrived I felt like a welcome guest in someone’s home. Denise took me around and showed me the home, told me I was welcome to hang out in the parlor and watch TV or grab a drink out of the refrigerator. The porch is a great place to just unwind in the evening or you can sit outside by the fire pit. If you think the trains might keep you awake at night, don’t worry they have complimentary ear plugs.

What would a Bed and Breakfast be without the breakfast? All I can say is that it is good and plentiful. Fresh brewed coffee was ready for me when I walked into the dining room and then I started off with fresh berries and crème. Next was fresh out of the oven, a polenta dish topped with a couple of eggs and then there was also a dessert. A lot of places might serve some croissants and cereal or something simple. Not here, the food was excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Milton Parker Bed and Breakfast and can honestly recommend it as a great place to stay if you are ever in the Bryan/College Station area. Whether you are headed to a Texas A&M football game, spending a few days on a weekend trip , traveling through the area headed somewhere else or just looking to getaway and visit Bryan Texas, this place needs to be on your list of places to stay.

When former Texas A&M Aggies Bob and Denise Barbier moved back home to Texas, they were looking to purchase a home with character. When they came across the Milton Parker Home located on four acres in Bryan, the historic town next to the A&M campus in College Station, they knew it was the perfect choice for a Bryan Texas bed and breakfast.

The Milton Parker home was built in 1885 by wealthy farmer Milton Parker and his wife Mollie. It was the summer home in which they raised their 10 children. Over the years, it was owned by family, but eventually gifted to Texas A&M. The property somehow survived eight years of fraternity ownership and was then purchased and restored by Dr. Van Walker who sold it to its current owners. In 1987, the home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This impressive stately Victorian was completely renovated when Bob and Denise purchased it in 2016, opening it as the Milton Parker Home Bed and Breakfast. The historic mansion contains over 5,000 feet of living space with seven fireplaces. Many of the Parker family’s antiques remained with the house, enabling the Barbiers to capture the family’s memories and honor their contribution to Bryan society. Original photos of the house in its early days and family portraits located throughout the bed and breakfast in Bryan Texas further preserve its Milton Parker heritage.

Bryan, Texas Bed and Breakfast

There’s something special about a welcoming porch with rocking chairs and seasonal decor that begs its guests to just come on up and sit a spell. And we did just that during our visit to this Bryan TX bed and breakfast.

Upon entering the stunning antique-filled home, we were greeted in the grand entry hall by the owners with a lovely smile and warm Texas welcome and escorted to our rooms. Guests are also warmly greeted by two other friendly family members, the labradoodles Booker and Echo. After settling in, we were treated to a grand tour of the home and property.

The first floor of the mansion has towering ceilings and consists of one queen bedroom with bath, two parlors, a formal dining room, and large spacious kitchen. A bathroom is located just off the back parlor and kitchen area.

A long wooden staircase climbs to the second floor which houses four additional bedrooms with attached baths.

History truly speaks volumes throughout the Bryan Texas bed and breakfast. It isn’t hard to imagine the love, laughter, and many celebrations that took place in this stunning abode throughout its storied past.

Amazing Accommodations

The historic bed and breakfast in Bryan Texas includes five spacious bedrooms each with their own private bath in the main house along with a newly renovated 4-bedroom, 2-bath cottage on the estate.

Each room is named after a member of the Parker family. My husband and I stayed in the Mary Parker Room, named for one of the Parker’s daughters. Like the downstairs, these rooms feature tall Victorian ceilings with floor-to ceiling-windows. We loved our king size bed complete with soft luxury linens, original fireplace, and bathroom with its period-perfect pedestal sink and ship lap walls.

Our friend’s room, the Winifred Parker, named for another daughter featured a queen bed, with marble-tiled floor.

Two other larger bedrooms, the Kate Parker Oliver includes a king bed and features a large en-suite bathroom with an immense 2-person claw foot soaking tub. Of historical significance, this was the first indoor bathroom in Bryan that utilized rainwater collected in a cistern that is still located in the attic.

The second magnificent room, the Beatrice Parker Gordon, is likely the most romantic room of the inn. Three of the house’s original stained glass bay windows shed colorful light behind a king four-poster bed. Theroom also includes a sitting area and original coal burning fireplace containing mini lights to create an added special ambience. This room’s bath includes a jetted slipper tub, pedestal sink and separate toilet area.

Indulgent Breakfast Included

Yes, there are B&B’s that include a daily breakfast . And then there’s the Milton Parker House breakfast.

Guests may choose to dine on the outdoor patio (weather permitting) or at the large antique table in the formal dining room surrounded by curios filled with the home’s original monogrammed china and serving pieces.

Based on local availability of fresh produce, the breakfast menu changes daily. Denise is the master chef and Bob does an amazing job of taking care of the table and delivering the tantalizing entrees.

Our breakfast began with fresh coffee, juice and homemade muffins followed by a slightly chocolate-infused parfait with yogurt, drizzled local honey, and fresh fruit. Individual polenta, spinach and chorizo skillets were served next, topped with a fresh egg scramble, cheese, and parsley. Impossible to eat another bite, Denise insisted we at least sample a few bites of her French toast baked casserole topped with crème fresh.

There’s no going hungry at this Bryan TX bed and breakfast, and you won’t need to eat again until dinner. Trust us, we know.

Outdoor Fire Pit and Sitting Area

On chilly Texas evenings (and yes, it can get chilly here in the winter), a popular hangout is the outdoor firepit surrounded by Adirondack seating. Accompanied with a nice glass of red wine, this is definitely the place to be.

And speaking of wine, Denise shared that a tasting room on site is being planned for 2023 featuring local Texas vintages.

The Cottage on West 27 th Street

A welcome addition to the historic property, this newly renovated 1885 cottage sits just behind the mansion and was originally used as the main home’s kitchen.

The 1400-square foot four-bedroom, two bath bungalow is absolutely charming with a modern Texas farmhouse twist. In addition to the bedrooms, the rambling cottage also includes a kitchen, living room, and small dining area. Once we stepped inside there was no going back. We all said “this is a place we have to stay when we return to Bryan.”

Though this Bryan Texas bed and breakfast is extremely popular with guests coming in to Bryan/College Station for Texas A&M football games, it’s extremely noteworthy that the property’s rates remain the same no matter the season. Since we happened to visit during an away game weekend, we were able to nab the reservation.

While the Victorian period décor of the mansion is rich and dignified, this venue and its owners exude an atmosphere of relaxed and welcoming comfort that makes guests feel right at home. You may come as strangers, but guaranteed, you will leave as friends.

When Bob and Denise purchased this bed and breakfast in Bryan Texas in 2016, they didn’t just buy a house. They acquired a legacy. And how exciting to see this happy Aggie couple loving being back home in Texas and being such an integral part of protecting and preserving the Milton Parker house’s impressive heritage.

The second course will include “You’re Hotta” Frittata, a farm-fresh egg, cheese, and herb concoction, along with “Orange You Glad I Love You” pork and beef sausage in a saucy orange glaze. To the delight of chocolate lovers everywhere, a stack of “Oreogasmic” Pancakes topped with whipped cream and berries will follow. You will toast your true love with a Valentine's Day Mimosa. Hot brewed coffee and organic tea round out the meal.

The Dog Days of Summer

Ever wonder why that phrase came into existence? According to Pappy van Winkle Barbier (pictured here) it means the days are too hot, the ground is too dry, and the rain is long overdue so why are you (Pappy's care and play provider) working in the yard and not playing with me???? The Old Farmer's Almanac somewhat agrees with Pappy. It states that the phrase is associated with the rising of Sirius, the Dog Star, that is part of the group of stars that forms the constellation Canis Major. The Egyptians associated this celestial phenomena with the rising of the Nile River and a good omen. The Greeks and Romans were not so pleased with the appearance of Sirius as to them it meant an increase in drought, disease and discomfort.

However you interpret "the Dog Days of Summer," the hot days are here for a while in this part of Texas. So grab an ice cold beverage to refresh and honor your canine companion with a little play time.
